“A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.”
It seems only appropriate that in our first post of the year, we celebrate with a glass of wine!
In a departure from the brighter hues we’ve seen from Pantone over the last few years, 2015’s colour of the Year – Marsala – is a rich, moody hue, evoking feelings of warmth and the exotic, much like it’s namesake tipple.
From an interiors perspective Marsala is a great colour to work with, particularly as an accent colour. It adds warmth and interest to a monochrome palette of white, grey and black as well as teaming up perfectly with other rich colours like navy, mustard and emerald green. It looks fabulous with natural textures like timber and stone, and tinted glass in this shade is simply divine.
Use it at it’s full strength for a big punch of warmth, or for a softer look use a lighter tint.
Here’s some inspiration for how to introduce a touch of Marsala into your home.
